Stringtastic

‘Stringtastic’ is the name I give to the string ensembles that I form at the Primary Schools which I teach at. They involve all of my students. They sometimes include my guitar students. We do 2 performances throughout the year, one at Christmas and the other at Summer. It is the highlight of the year and all the students get excited about it.

We perform for the other students at the school, and sometimes the parents are invited. I have made videos of some of the pieces we have played (for various instruments), and have also provided some sheet music which you can download:

This video is a tutorial on 'Johnny Be Good' by Chuck Berry. It is the main piece my students perform as an ensemble at their summer school concert. I call these 'Stringtastic' concerts. I have arranged a part for violin, cello, double bass and guitar. We often play it as our grand finale, an opportunity for all my students to play together. It is primary for my students, but sheet music is available from my website for the general public to download: www.stringmaestro.co.uk. You can play this along with me or on your own with the original track.
